Profiling The Production Ramp: How to Revamp and Produce at the Same Time

The production ramp up is fast becoming a reality throughout Pratt & Whitney. To learn more about what that means to employees, we are launching the "Profiling the Production Ramp Up" video series, featuring Pratt & Whitney employees from across the enterprise. Whether they work in manufacturing, operations, supply chain management, engineering or quality, their message is the same: "We're ready for the ramp."

In this video, "How to Revamp and Produce at the Same Time," Ted Sluis, operations manager, Next Generation Product Family, Pratt & Whitney Middletown Engine Center, explains how the Engine Center completely redesigned the assembly floor while maintaining meeting engine delivery requirements.

"It's really a testament to the folks that work here on the line, that build the engines, that we did that in such a timely transition, that we achieved that without really missing a beat," Sluis said.
