Otis China Continues to Support Wuhan Metro Expansion

Selected for Line 21 and Line 2 Southern Extension

TIANJIN, China, Sept., 7, 2017 — Otis China has been selected again to provide elevators and escalators for Wuhan Metro’s new Line 21 and Line 2 southern extension. As a long-term partner to Wuhan Metro Group, Otis has been serving Wuhan Metro with approximately 390 elevators and escalators running on the city’s LRT Line 1 and Metro Line 3, Line 4, Line 6 and Line 8 over the past 12 years.

The Wuhan Metro network currently stretches more than 180 kilometers with five lines in operation. Line 21 will add an extra 35 kilometers of track to the current network linking the rail transit system at 16 stations. The network is also adding 10 additional stations to Line 2, with the southern extension scheduled to open by the end of 2018.

“It’s a great honor to partner with Wuhan Metro again. Otis’ long-time support of the urban transit system is a strong endorsement of our high-quality solutions and service that help move people in the city,” said Luis Molina, President of Otis Elevator (China) Investment Co. Ltd (“OCL”).
