UTC named to 2008 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes

Recognized among leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide

UTC has been named to the 2008 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), a recognition received by industry sustainability leaders around the world. UTC's overall score improved three points from 2007, with positive improvements in all major categories.

"The DJSI is an important indicator of our Corporate Responsibility performance which benchmarks us against our peers globally," according to Andrea Doane, UTC's director of corporate citizenship & community investment. "UTC has made steady progress over the past few years and we should all be proud of our accomplishments so far."

Twenty five hundred companies were eligible for inclusion in the DJSI index this year and 320 were selected. Introduced in 1999, the DJSI family measures the financial performance of the world's sustainability leaders. Based on the cooperation of Dow Jones Indexes, STOXX Limited and SAM they provide asset managers with reliable and objective benchmarks to manage sustainability portfolios. UTC has been a member of the DJSI since its inception.
