The KaDeWe Group Relies on Otis throughout Germany

BERLIN, July 25, 2017 — Since March 2017, Otis maintains all elevators and escalators for the most famous department stores in Germany – the KaDeWe in Berlin, the Oberpollinger in Munich and the Alsterhaus in Hamburg – which all belong to The KaDeWe Group. The Otis work focuses on the service of a total of 44 elevators, 134 escalators and one lifting platform. Otis already services more than 1.9 million installations worldwide. Otis, the world’s leading manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators, and moving walkways, is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

”Elevator installations are among the safest means of transportation in the world. To ensure this, regular inspection and maintenance of the units is critical,” explains Jürgen Harke, Key Account Manager, Otis Germany. "We are delighted that The KaDeWe Group trusts us with the people-moving equipment in its renowned department stores. Once again, the contract award confirms our ability to offer optimal support, thanks to a nationwide network of service centers throughout Germany.”

Jens Fein, Construction Manager, The KaDeWe Group, adds, “Otis has earned our business with its extensive range of services. We are pleased to have found a reliable partner in Otis, who can guarantee the high reliability of our equipment contributing to the satisfaction of our customers.”

The service and maintenance offered by Otis is flexible to customer needs and their specifications. Depending on individual needs, customers can choose from different performance portfolios – from the pure service maintenance, partial and full maintenance to additional services such as Elite Service, with options to change parameters online by Otis experts. Thus, interruption of operations can frequently be avoided or remedied within a very short time period.
