MADRID, May 29, 2015 — On May 31, Otis Spain will hold its first Otis Charity Race to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Association of Valdemoro (Madrid). Otis is the world’s largest manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, and is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The event timing coincides with World MS Day, which is held each year on the last Wednesday of May. Otis Spain encourages all its employees, as well as their relatives and friends, to participate in the race with the goal of supporting the approximately 48,000 people affected by this disease in Spain.
Supported by Special Olympics, Sanitas and Carlos III University, the Otis Charity Race will have two routes: a 10K for seasoned runners and 5K for recreational runners. The shorter route can also be walked with or without children.
