Wha t is it like to work on technology that is cooler than a movie?

Just ask Employee Scholar Program graduate Jonathan O’Neill.

“The calculations Matt Damon does in The Martian are essentially what I do every day,” says Jonathan. “His are just the simplified version.”

A systems engineer with UTC Aerospace Systems, Jonathan develops sophisticated environmental control and life support systems and cooling systems for spacecraft.

Jonathan is proud that he is part of a company that is literally making history. And he credits the Employee Scholar Program for giving him the opportunity to contribute. “Graduate school prepared me for the work I am doing now,” says Jonathan who completed a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
