Jeff Hamer is a self-described UTC “lifer.”
After being recruited at a college career fair, he worked in a company co-op, was part of the Operations Leadership Program, and held positions in several business units.
But according to Jeff, his career journey has been significantly assisted by his participation in the Employee Scholar Program.
“The business classes I took significantly improved my understanding of how companies are valued and how financial policies can be leveraged to create value,” says Jeff. “My MBA improved my understanding of many aspects of business – from business administration to general organizational management. Plus it improved my judgment, analytical reasoning and decision-making skills.”
Since earning his MBA from Boston College, Jeff has launched a number of multimillion-dollar strategic projects for UTC Aerospace Systems. And his skills in executing cost-reduction projects have become a core competency.
As Jeff explains, “I’ve leveraged the knowledge gained from my MBA to achieve results by creating and driving innovative solutions to complex business situations. More important, I’ve applied these principles to ensure that investments made by my business unit align with value creation for UTC shareholders.”
