RICHARD D. MCCORMICK served as Chairman of the Board of U S WEST, Inc. (telecommunications) from June 1998 until his retirement in May 1999. He was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of U S WEST, Inc. from May 1992 until June 1998. He is also a director of Wells Fargo and Company, Nortel Networks Corporation and Nortel Networks Limited. In addition, he is a former Chairman and Honorary Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chairman of the United States Council for International Business, a trustee of the Denver Art Museum, Vice President of the Denver Art Museum Foundation and Director Emeritus of Creighton University. Mr. McCormick has been a UTC director since 1999.
