Measuring Environmental Performance We quantify our environmental performance by tracking the data over time on important benchmarks. Since 1992, we have set specific performance targets and metrics for environmental performance. We are on track to meet — or have already exceeded — our 2006 goals. In 2006 we will review our progress and set our next series of environmental performance goals. The accompanying charts provide a five-year perspective on our historical performance and track our progress. Additionally, we have included UTC’s carbon dioxide emissions, derived from worldwide energy consumption.
