In
the future, the frontiers of technology will be determined
by the quality of math and science education available today.
To engage and inspire the next generation of innovators, we
support FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science
and Technology), a competition designed to spark interest
in science and engineering. Among the 927 international teams
that competed in 2004 were 16 UTC-sponsored teams of high
school students who spent several months working with our
mentors/engineers to design and build robots in preparation
for competition. Since 1994, we have provided $2 million in
grant support to FIRST. |
