Objectives for 2008
Governance
Work with the Ethics Resource Center to benchmark UTC’s ethics programs against those of comparable companies
Improve by 3 percentage points responses to the 2009 biennial employee survey question that asks whether or not, “My managers comply with the UTC Code of Ethics”
Environment
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions 3 percent annually and water consumption 2.5 percent annually from 2007 to 2010
Invest $100 million from 2007 to 2010 in energy conservation projects, including co-generation systems
Comply with all environmental permits
Products
Improve energy efficiency and reduce packaging of new products placed in service between 2007 and 2010 by 10 percent
Continue to eliminate materials of concern in all new products and develop long-term plans to overcome technical, customer specification or financial barriers
Customers and Suppliers
Continue to roll out supplier EH&S program and have all meet UTC’s EH&S expectations by 2010
People
Work to support a 3 point increase in the overall favorable response rate in the 2009 biennial employee survey
Continue aggressive actions to eliminate work-related fatalities and serious injuries
Reduce global lost workday incident rate from .49 to .17 and recordable incidents from 1.42 to .64 from 2007 to 2010
