Support through giving
UTC is proud to support causes that affect its businesses and employees. UTC funds qualified 501(c)3 organizations that meet its eligibility criteria and operate in the company's focus areas. In Greater Hartford, UTC supports grants in arts and culture, math and science education, the environment and human services (through the United Way).
Nationally, UTC provides grants to arts organizations and groups engaged in environmental sustainability work. For more information on UTC's Sustainable Cities initiative, click here. UTC's national grant making is centered on the northeast corridor of the United States, namely the urban areas of Washington, D.C.; New York City and Boston.
The UTC contributions program will not fund:
- Individuals
- Religious activities
- Municipalities
- Dues or gifts to alumni groups that are not distributed to the eligible higher education institution
- Fees for publication or merchandise
- Booster clubs
- Sororities or fraternities
- Political groups
- Organizations engaged in or advocating illegal action
- Any organization determined by UTC to have a conflict of interest
UTC Corporate Headquarters accepts online grant applications throughout the year. Applicants are eligible to apply for a grant one time per calendar year and will receive notification within one quarter of their application submission. UTC accepts grant applications only online, and applicants will be notified only by e-mail if additional information is required as part of the online review process.

Business unit grant applications
UTC's business units accept grant applications between March 1 and June 1 of each year.
Applicants for business unit grants - from Carrier, Hamilton Sundstrand, Otis, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, United Technologies Research Center, UTC Fire & Security and UTC Power - will continue to receive notification in the first quarter of the calendar year in which funding will occur.
