UTC's financial donations are made primarily through its Volunteer Grant, Matching Gift and United Way giving programs.

The Volunteer Grant Program is designed to recognize and encourage employee volunteer activities through contributions to specific organizations employees are involved with. In 2004 UTC made 510 Volunteer Grants totaling $125,000. Click here to learn more about the Volunteer Grant Program.

UTC's Matching Gift Program allows employees to double their contributions to their favorite nonprofit educational, cultural and environmental organizations. Since 1967 UTC has matched millions of dollars in employee donations to schools, colleges and universities, cultural institutions and environmental organizations. In 2004 alone, UTC contributed more than $900,000 to employees' favorite nonprofit organizations.

UTC employees are extremely generous to the United Way, and their contributions have an enormous positive impact on the community. To help its neighbors, UTC supports Hartford-based United Way of the Capital Area with both a corporate gift and workplace campaign that together in 2004 raised more than 25 percent of the United Way's annual budget.
