Paul Eremenko

Paul Eremenko was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of United Technologies Corp. in January 2018. Eremenko provides strategic leadership for the company’s research, engineering and development activities in the global aerospace and building systems industries. He also oversees the United Technologies Research Center. 

Eremenko joined UTC from Airbus, where he was the Chief Technology Officer. Previously at Airbus, he served as the founding CEO of A^3 by Airbus Group, a Silicon Valley outpost charged with pursuing projects that can be disruptive to the core business.

Prior to Airbus, Eremenko held leadership roles at Google in its Advanced Technology & Projects organization; at Motorola Mobility, where he conceived and led the development of Ara, an open modular smartphone hardware platform; and at DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), where he developed and led DARPA's advanced design and manufacturing program portfolio and served as program manager for several space efforts, including the 100 Year Starship. For his work at DARPA, Eremenko was awarded the Distinguished Public Service Medal by the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

Eremenko earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology and a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.
