She served as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from January 2001 through June 2003 and as Governor of the State of New Jersey from 1994 through 2001. Governor Whitman served on the boards of Texas Instruments, Inc., from 2003 to 2017 and S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (non-public), from 2003 to 2016. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Chair of the Board of the American Security Project. In addition, she is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Eisenhower Fellowships and a member of the Senior Advisory Committee of the Institute of Politics at the Harvard University Kennedy School. Governor Whitman is a board member at the Center for Responsible Shale Development, and she serves on the Advisory Board of the Corporate Eco Forum and is Co-Chair of the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition. She holds an Executive Masters Professional Director Certification from the American College of Corporate Directors. Governor Whitman is 72 and has been a UTC director since 2003.
