National Volunteer Week: Celebrating UTC Employee Volunteers

“Knowing that my wife and I make a difference in the lives of the students we mentor is why we continue to volunteer. As a FIRST mentor for four years, the letters of appreciation and excitement we see directly from the kids is so rewarding and why I look forward to participating in UTC’s FIRST partnership each year.” David Ali, Engineering Quality and ACE
Being a Volunteer for United Way has been an amazing experience. I have had the pleasure of spending treasured time with children in Hartford, not only reading and playing but making literacy kits as well. There is no better feeling than giving back to your community and receiving hugs and seeing precious smiles. I strongly encourage everyone to find a cause and volunteer. Because not only will you be helping others, you will be helping yourself as well.

UTC employees are making a significant impact, while helping UTC fulfill its commitment to making the world a better place.

Volunteering is about taking action, often in imaginative ways, to meet the challenges and goals facing our communities. This same ethic inspires us to create smart, sustainable solutions the world needs. On the job and in our communities, we demonstrate the collective power to make a difference.

Throughout this week, we’ll hear about some of our colleagues across the company who are actively engaged in volunteer service. We know that their efforts motivate others to take action, and have seen how volunteering can empower both the giver and those who are served.
