Chubb Edwards Employees Show Big Heart on the Big Bike for the Heart and Stroke Foundation

Chubb Edwards’ Mississauga team gearing up to ride the Big Bike.

Chubb Edwards’ Canadian head office employees recently took part in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike team fundraising event in Mississauga, Ontario.  The team, consisting of 32 staff members, took turns to bike the two-kilometer course twice in the allotted 20 minutes, raising $3,149 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Chubb Edwards is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

“Our team at Chubb Edwards always strives to make the world a better place to live,” said Tracy Cordes, managing director, Chubb Edwards. “The Big Bike team event is one that we’re thrilled to take part in year after year to support an important organization in our community.”

“We all know someone affected by heart disease and, through fundraising initiatives like this, we hope to help prevent the disease and improve the quality of life for all of those affected,” Cordes continued.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike is a team fundraising event geared toward companies, community organizations and other groups. Participants ride a bicycle built for 30 people through their local communities for 20 minutes, or two kilometers, to raise money for life-saving research. Last year, over 70,000 riders, in over 200 communities coast to coast, helped raise over $8 million for heart disease and stroke research.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s mission is to prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery. A volunteer-based health charity, they strive to tangibly improve the health of every Canadian family, every day.
