Otis recognized as a leading service provider in China

Beijing, China – Otis Elevator Company has earned a prestigious quality award from the China Association for Quality Promotion (CAQP) for consistently providing superior service to customers throughout China.

The CAQP acknowledged Otis’ service performance with its “Leading Companies for High Quality Service” award, the fourth year in a row the association has cited Otis’ service excellence. Otis was the sole elevator company among the 33 companies recognized by CAQP. Since 1992, CAQP, a Chinese government agency, has played an active and authoritative role in promoting product, project and service quality across China.

The award is based on results of anonymous inspections performed annually between 2005 and 2008. Otis achieved an outstanding performance rating – scores of 100 percent – in each of the four years.

“Otis is dedicated to providing customized maintenance solutions and the highest level of service to our customers,” said Allen Ge, president, Otis China. “We are very honored to again be recognized for our ability to deliver on these commitments.”

The most critical measurement of the association’s anonymous inspections is responsiveness in providing service. The OTISLINE® communications center is integral in consistently delivering prompt responses to customers and operates 24 hours a day. Established in China in 2000, the OTISLINE center has earned numerous awards including China’s Best 80 Customer Care Enterprise, 2007 and 2008 Best Contact Center and China’s Best Call Center in the small-size category.

Otis’ high ratings in the inspections is also attributed to the professional appearance of mechanics, commitment to safety procedures and practices and thoroughness in performing maintenance service on both Otis and non-Otis equipment.

Otis’ teams of highly trained professionals deliver service to more than 200 cities in China. The company’s service infrastructure also includes an extensive spare parts inventory to ensure prompt service.
