Whitni Wilson-Wertz

Senior Manager, Contracts & Logistics Center Project Management Team, Otis

Working at UTC has afforded me the opportunity to contribute and learn in a dynamic environment. More

Each day is different and allows me to use my strengths, learn from a diverse group of talented individuals around the world and stretch myself. With the consistent introduction of new products and systems at Otis, there is always the challenge to proactively exceed the evolving needs of our customers. One of my favorite quotes is: "Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life." This speaks to our opportunity to engage and grow a diverse community and be inclusive. As we work it is great to genuinely engage and encourage diversity of thought.

Materials Engineer, Pratt & Whitney

Pratt & Whitney leverages its Employee Resource Groups to engage its employees with diversity and inclusion.  More

Becoming a part of the Asian American Leadership Forum Council has enabled me to grow both personally and professionally. I’ve have had the opportunity to lead signature events as well as lead the council. Our group focuses on events to foster employee engagement, professional development, and recruitment and retention. This allows us to network with all employees and learn from each other. The ability to do this really shows me how much UTC supports diversity and inclusion for its employees.

The commitment UTC holds to diversity and inclusion is evident in their continued support of external and internal organizations. More

UTC has been a long-time sponsor of the Society of Women Engineers and continues to seek opportunities to support the organization. In addition to being the SWE Hartford Social Chair, I have also had the opportunity to be involved in various internal Employee Networking Groups such as the UTC Aerospace Systems Young Professionals Organization, the Pratt & Whitney Asian American Leadership Forum, the Pratt & Whitney Women’s Council and Pratt & Whitney’s Newcomer’s Club. Additionally, I have received support to create two new ENGs, allowing me to grow my network at UTC, enhance my leadership skills and improve other competencies.
