Tiffany Ingram SACC testimonial

Tiffany Ingram (Army)

Senior Representative, Human Resources, Taylor Company, UTC Climate, Controls & Security

UTC has given me the opportunity to enhance my skill set and expand my knowledge of human resources, specifically within diversity and inclusion. More

My experience in the United States Army has proven to be instrumental in establishing my career with Taylor. Throughout my personal transition from military to civilian life, I have seen the importance of diversity and inclusion. When I initially began my career with UTC, I was not familiar with Employee Resource Groups and their mission within an organization. It was not until I attended the UTC Employee Resource Group Summit held in 2016 that I gained an understanding of how the identified groups support diversity and inclusion efforts. I currently serve as the co-chair for our local Woman Networking Group. My goal is to ensure that our WNG provides a platform that brings together diverse perspectives and creates a culture of respect for differences found within the workplace.

Angelo Adams, SACC testimonial

Angelo Adams (Army)

General Manager, New England Region, Otis

As a UTC employee, I have been able to reap the benefits of large company resources while at the same time experiencing a small company feel. More

The best way to describe my experience at Otis is that it’s entrepreneurial and provides me with opportunities to strengthen my business acumen in operations, finance, legal and sales. The skills that I honed in the Army – leadership, adaptability, drive for results – have been paramount to my success here at Otis.

Andrea Morrison

Andrea Morrison (Army)

Director, Human Resources-Electric Systems, UTC Aerospace Systems

As I started my journey transitioning from active duty Army, the first resource I turned to was the Service Academy Career Conference. More

At the Washington, D.C. conference in 2006, I met a very talented and professional leadership team from UTC who guided me through every step in my transition journey. UTC supported my continued service to my country through the National Guard; provided me several meaningful mentor relationships; aggressively tracked my career progression; funded my MBA; and allowed me to functionally transition and successfully progress throughout my division. I am very proud to say I work for United Technologies and could not be more thankful for the day I walked up to the UTC booth at the Service Academy Career Conference.

Chris McDavid

Chris McDavid (Air Force)

Vice President & Counsel, Military Engines, Pratt & Whitney

In my experience, when most service members transition from military life to civilian corporate life they still long for some sort of attachment to the mission. More

As someone who also feels that way, I can say that United Technologies is an outstanding place to work. I still wake up every day feeling like I am serving as part of the defense of our country. At United Technologies we know that veterans bring a unique perspective. Having in many cases been the end user of our products, in some ways their perspective is the customer’s perspective. Veterans also possess tested leadership skills. We look for employees who rush to a challenge, pull people together, give them a vision and get results. Those are skills that are honed and prized in the military, and at UTC they are equally valued.

James Jacobs

James Jacobs (Army)

Executive Director, Carrier Indianapolis Operations, UTC Climate, Controls & Security

After serving in the U.S. Army as an Armor Officer, my first position in industry was as a manufacturing supervisor. More

I learned new dimensions of leadership working with a group of people that weren’t mine 24/7, from a position of less formal authority, but with hard metrics and deliverables on a daily basis. In manufacturing there are always new challenges, stretch goals and improvements that can be made; great opportunities exist to make a difference and succeed. UTC is a large, well-diversified company with a formal ethics program, a focus on safety and environmental stewardship, great customer service, and a culture of strong leadership and accountability.

Jonas Zikas

Jonas S. Zikas (Navy)

Assistant General Counsel, International Trade Compliance, UTC Aerospace Systems

I served in the U.S. Navy as a division officer on a fast attack nuclear submarine and as a military instructor. More

When I transitioned from the Navy, I sought opportunities where I could leverage my technical background and leadership experience in an area of innovation and high growth. I found the perfect fit at UTC Aerospace Systems, where I serve as in-house counsel and regularly collaborate with senior leadership and business professionals to solve complex problems and promote a culture of compliance.
