The FLP provides a great transition from college. You go through the program together as a cohort, which provides a support system, a sounding board, and people to lean on as you adjust to the working world. More

The program allows you to work with amazing and smart individuals, some of the best in the industry, and interact with them as real people, not just managers and executives. UTC makes incredible products that make modern life possible, but the people are the reason I am proud to work at UTC.

FLP Associate

I had the opportunity to conduct business on three continents with people from all over the world while working in Singapore as an expat. More

I have expanded my professional network to include many of UTC’s 7,000 finance employees, and have made many lifelong friends along the way. Most importantly, I come to work with a smile nearly every day knowing that I work for a growing business that is changing the future of the world.

My position at the UTC Aerospace systems’ Global Service Partners, Propulsion Systems Division, has exposed me to a dynamic environment where I operate as a multifunctional finance lead supporting operations, accounting and controls, and financial forecasting. More

The majority of my interactions involves senior management and requires participation in preparing and presenting the analytics that drive our business. Outside of finance, my participation includes working with our Pollution Prevention team. This experience has been amazing because we are focused on improving both our environment and bottom line!

In this role I gained valuable experience in Accounting, A/P and A/R through the performance of tasks such as physical inventory, freight analysis, account reconciliations and month-end closing deliverables. More

This position provides exposure to a diverse set of responsibilities and a fascinating product line. The Ashland facility is also a leader in Relay for Life fundraising and the FLP associate participate in and helps coordinate a number of volunteering events. This experience allows the FLP to network with employees across the entire company and provides fun leadership opportunities outside of the FLP’s standard responsibilities.

This position is a unique experience culturally, but it also gives the associate a chance to work in a high-profile operations facility. More

Within this role there is a lot of focus on implementing process improvements across the business. Additionally, I’m working closely with the operations teams to help track productivity by product line on a more consistent basis. Each of my four rotations has been at a different business unit, but it’s great to see that the skills I’ve gained transfer perfectly to new projects in new locations – even new countries – across the entire UTC portfolio.

During my Internal Audit rotation, I had the exciting opportunity to visit many UTC Business Units throughout the United States. Each of the audit and consulting projects were unique. More

They covered business processes within Compliance, Finance, Business Operations and Information Systems. Some of my responsibilities were to analyze existing business processes, ensure appropriate controls were in place, and provide my audit findings and recommendations to senior management. This role has helped enhance my critical analysis, communication and presentation skills, while broadening my knowledge of UTC’s business and allowing me to meet a lot of wonderful people.
