Test Systems Engineering (TSE) provides the engineering, design and procurement of special test equipment, test facilities and test support systems required for validation and production testing of jet engines and jet engine components. Test Systems Engineering is seeking a Discipline Chief for its Electrical and Controls sub-discipline to provide leadership, sound engineering judgment and technical direction. In this role, the candidate will own; engineering standard work, engineering skills matrix, and the technical training requirements for Test Systems Engineering electrical and controls sub-disciplines. The Discipline Chief will chair the design review process driving adherence to PW procedures and engineering standard work. The Discipline Chief will work with Engineering management in reviewing discipline health and providing technical leadership. It is important that the candidate have strong technical, interpersonal and leadership skills as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of P&W management. Responsibilities: Design Process & Products: ¿ Design review quality & participation ¿ Monitor who attends design reviews ¿ Review engineering analysis ¿ Provide design review tools and process definition ¿ Standard work development and process improvement ¿ Identify and develop training curriculum and course materials ¿ Oversee escape and root cause investigations ¿ Assess technical risks within projects ¿ Value stream mapping participation ¿ 6S Customer Interaction: ¿ Challenge requirements that appear to be vague or unnecessary ¿ Assess TSE designs to ensure that the designs meet all customer requirements ¿ Participate in feasibility studies and proposals Employee Fulfillment: ¿ Provide mentoring and assist supervision to identify potential training and areas needing skill enhancement. ¿ Schedule annual procedure reviews ¿ Collect comments for revision of standard work Financial Performance: ¿ Promote alternative design considerations for low cost options ¿ Promote consideration for cost of design vs. cost of fabrication

Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required; Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred and Master of Science in a related field also preferred The TSE Discipline Chief, Controls and Electrical candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in power distribution, control systems integration and design and HMI in the experimental test stand or equivalent industrial environment. The preferred candidate will have experience in software design including Citect and Labview with an understanding of PID control loops and their application and have familiarity with the National Electric Code and NFPA 70E.
