J. Thomas Bowler Jr., Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Organization

J. Thomas Bowler, Jr. was elected Senior Vice President Human Resources and Organization of United Technologies Corporation in December 2007.

Previously he served as UTC Vice President Human Resources since May 2006. He was Vice President, Human Resources and Organization of Pratt & Whitney from 2001 to 2006. Bowler has also served as Vice President, Human Resources, Worldwide, for Carrier. His six years with Carrier also included four years as head of human resources for Carrier Asia-Pacific Operations based in Singapore.

Bowler joined UTC at Pratt & Whitney in 1979 and has held a variety of management positions at Hamilton, UTC Corporate Headquarters and the former UT Automotive business.

He is a member of the HR Policy Association Board of Directors and served on the INROADS National Board of Directors from 2007 - 2011.

He earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master’s degree from Harvard University.
